| Will You Be A Champion Of Change? |
ASOR has long aspired to be an instrument of change, and it is a recognized leader for setting professional, ethical, academic, and cultural standards. Nothing illustrates this better than a recent generous 2-for-1 challenge gift of $150,000 to endow diversity initiatives. To date, we have raised $48,200 to "earn" $96,400 of this challenge gift. Please consider a gift that will be doubly matched and will bring us to the $26,800 needed to earn the entire challenge gift. Read more . . .

This is the first year of ASOR's Summer Stipend program, which allows students to take part in non-fieldwork archaeological research, and mentoring the stipend recipients is a key component of the program. Friends of ASOR is pleased to present a featured session from our "Making May Matter—Webinarathon to Endow Diversity at ASOR." This is a moderated Q&A conversation with scholar Debora Heard (University of Chicago) reflecting on the experiences that led her to Nubian studies. This discussion will examine disciplinary divides through the life and legacy of William Leo Hansberry, the founding of the William Leo Hansberry Society, and collaborative efforts between ASOR, Archaeology in the Community, and Hansberry Society members to promote disciplinary changes through youth education. Sydney Pickens (AITC) serves as moderator for this discussion. Click here to watch the recording on ASORtv.

| Summer at the James F. Strange Center |
Summer has bloomed at the Strange Center! As in previous years, ASOR staff have the option of taking a half day on Fridays during June, July, and August, with the understanding they will work the extra hours earlier in the week. This means that after 12:30 PM ET on Fridays, ASOR staff may not be around to answer emails and office phones. Normal hours will resume in the first week of September and we look forward to the day when we are all back in the Strange Center. Read more about other updates at the Strange Center.
