ASOR Mourns The Passing Of Norma Kershaw
ASOR mourns the passing of long-time member, Norma Kershaw, and we share our condolences with the Kershaw family. Norma died peacefully at home on September 14 at age 95. Trustees serve a three-year term and are responsible for ASOR's governance, fundraising, and policy development. Virtual Annual Meeting Update
ASOR is rolling out the Virtual Annual Meeting Website this month. The first launch will be this week for program participants (presenters, session chairs), followed by a public launch for registered attendees later this month. Please watch your e-mail for an official message to each target group. In the meantime, presenters can read about pre-recording their presentation, download tutorials, and schedule a support call during Virtual Office Hours by going to the Presenter Information page. If you haven’t registered for the 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting, register online before the discounted Early rates end on October 14.

Call for 2020 Annual Meeting Student Paper Award Applications
ASOR is now accepting applications for the Student Paper Award, due October 23. This award is conferred upon the author(s) of a paper presented during the Annual Meeting that conveys the results of a study about ancient Near Eastern and wider Mediterranean societies in a clear, understandable and convincing fashion. The first author and presenter of the paper must be a registered student at the time of presentation in order to be eligible for consideration for this award. Read more . . .


ECS Brown Bag Panel on Publishing
The Early Career Scholars of ASOR will hold a virtual panel discussion on academic journal publishing on October 8, 2020 at 12pm EDT via Zoom. Speakers will include: Dr. Stephanie Budin (Near Eastern Archaeology), Dr. Seth Richardson (Journal of Near Eastern Studies), and Dr. Christopher Rollston (Bulletin of ASOR).
