March Fellowship Madness 2020: 120 Years of ASOR!
This year, we aspire to raise $6,000 more to send an additional three people into the field. This goal includes an additional $4,000 from ASOR members, and $2,000 from our Friends of ASOR. With your partnership, we will award a record-breaking 30 dig scholarships in 2020. Announcing The Survey On ASOR's Name
For almost 30 years, ASOR’s members have debated the accuracy, usefulness, and appropriateness of its now 120-year-old name: The American Schools of Oriental Research. A committee has been formed to review earlier discussions of this topic and essays developed for previous forums. It is now seeking input from ASOR members. Libyan Museum Suitcase: Ghadames One-Day Workshop
The Libyan Museum Suitcase “toolkits” have achieved enormous success in spreading cultural heritage awareness in Benghazi, Sabratha, and Tripoli. The project has now expanded to one of the oldest pre-Saharan cities, Ghadames—located in western Libya, at the intersection of the borders of Tunisia, Libya, and Algeria. Fellowship Report: Kara Lawson
Kara Larson was awarded the 2019 Harva L. Sheeler Fellowship for her work as a member of the excavation team at Khirbet Summeily.
