ASOR Fellowships: Application Deadline Is January 15!
Are you going into the field in 2020? ASOR can help! Apply for an ASOR Fellowship this year to help cover/offset the cost of participating in an ASOR-affiliated excavation this summer. The deadline is just around the corner--January 15th! Application information can be found here. We also invite you to help fund a student in the field this summer! , please choose "Student Support" in the drop-down menu. Gifts of all sizes make are meaningful and make a difference.

2020 Annual Meeting: Call for Papers
As we welcome 2020 and ASOR’s 120th Anniversary, ASOR prepares to welcome paper and poster proposals for the 2020 Annual Meeting to be held November 18-21 at The Westin Boston Waterfront in Boston, MA. The Call for Papers will open on January 15. Please visit the Annual Meeting website often. Newly approved sessions and workshops will be announced later this week. Stay tuned for more information about the 2020 ASOR Annual Meeting!
 
US-Jordan Cultural Property Agreement Signed
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Government of the United States of America on Monday, December 16, 2019. This memorandum aims to restrict the import of Jordanian artifacts to the USA, which includes coins, manuscripts, stones, minerals, ceramics, glass, mosaic plates and ancient bones, seashells and human, animal and plant remains, whose history ranges from about 1.5 million years BC to about 1750 AD. Do you have a picture of yourself or a colleague using the exclusive ASOR Travel Mug in the field or at work? We want to see it! Send it to us by email or better yet, post it to your social media and tag ASOR on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The member whose photo receives the most "likes" by March 1 will win a $50 credit in ASOR's online store to be used for membership renewals, Annual Meeting registrations, etc.
Fellowship Report: Jewel Trail

The Membership & Outreach Committee works closely with the Membership and Friends of ASOR Manager regarding ASOR institutional and individual memberships. The Committee takes responsibility for discussing matters regarding ASOR institutional and individual memberships, including (but not limited to) strategies for membership growth, appropriate membership benefits, the most fitting way to categorize individual memberships (student, recent graduate, etc.), greater enfranchisement of ASOR’s international members, and resources that members might like ASOR to provide.
