ASOR Remembers P.E. MacAllister (1918-2019)
On October 23, 2019, ASOR said goodbye to our beloved leader, as he passed away quietly at home in Indianapolis due to complications from a fall. It is impossible to exaggerate P.E.’s importance to ASOR. Yet, those who knew him best will remember him for his wit, his loyalty, and pragmatic counsel. He loved ASOR, and we loved him. Call for 2020 Annual Meeting Session and Workshop Proposals
ASOR invites members to propose new sessions and workshops for the 2020 Annual Meeting to be held in Boston, MA, November 18-21, at The Westin Boston Waterfront. The application form is simple, and proposals can be for a session or workshop that is one, two, or three years in duration. December 15, 2019 is the deadline to submit a proposal. Call for 2020 CAARI Fellowship Applications
Applications for CAARI 2020 fellowships are now available online. CAARI provides three fellowships for graduate students to spend time conducting research at CAARI, as well as two CAARI-CAORC Post-doctoral fellowships, a Senior Scholar In Residence post, and the recently introduced Edgar J. Call for Papers for 2020 AIAR Sean W. Dever Memorial Prize
The William F. Albright Institute of Archaeological Research in Jerusalem announces the 2020 Sean W. Dever Memorial Prize call for papers. This prize provides $750 for the best published article or paper presented at a conference that treats a topic in the field of Syro-Palestinian or Biblical Archaeology. Authors must be Ph.D. candidates in the semester in which the winner is announced (Spring 2020). Submissions must be received no later than 12/31/2019. ACOR is now accepting applications for the 2020-2021 Fellowship cycle! ACOR offers NEH and ACOR-CAORC Post-doctoral fellowships, funding for Pre-doctoral research, and field research funding for graduate and undergraduate students.
