Thanks to our generous members, ASOR has raised funds to finance part of the purchase price for a new ASOR home in Alexandria, VA—The James F. Strange Center. Moving into our new home was and is an amazing accomplishment, but we are not quite finished. | Annual Meeting Hotel Update |
Rooms are filling quickly in ASOR’s discounted group block at The Westin San Diego. The rate for ASOR attendees is $159. The $25 “facility fee” is waived for all ASOR Attendees even if it appears on your reservation confirmation. The ASOR hotel has sold out over the summer in recent years and you are encouraged to reserve a room now. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, the ASOR office in Alexandria will be operating on our summer schedule. Summer hours mean the ASOR office is open for longer hours Monday-Thursday and closes at 12:30 on Friday afternoons. |

| ASOR Member Honored with AIA Undergraduate Teaching Award |
|
ASOR is pleased to recognize that long-time ASOR member, Jennifer Ramsay, has received the "Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award" from the Archaeological Institute of America. A professor at SUNY Brockport, Ramsay is a noted leader in ASOR and currently serves on ASOR's Committee on Archaeological Research and Policy, as an ex-officio member of the Program Committee, and on the editorial board of BASOR.
