Dr. Eric H. Cline will give the plenary address at the 2019 ASOR Annual Meeting, “Dirt, Digging, Dreams and Drama: Why Presenting Proper Archaeology to the Public is Crucial for the Future of our Field.” Dr. Cline is Director of the GWU Capitol Archaeological Institute and Co-Director of the Tel Kabri Archaeological Project. | Annual Meeting Survey Winners |
|
Thank you to everyone who participated in our Survey on the Future of the Annual Meeting! We received over 550 responses, and we appreciate all of your input. Two survey participants were randomly selected to win our “thanks for participating” prize and were awarded a $50 credit for the ASOR online store. The two winners are Michele Stopera Freyhauf and Daniel Machiela. The Ad Hoc Committee on the Future of the Annual Meeting is analyzing the results, and a report from them will be out soon! |

The Archaeological Survey of the Desert Roads between Berenike and the Nile Valley: Expeditions by the University of Michigan and the University of Delaware to the Eastern Desert of Egypt, 1987-2015, edited by Steven E. Sidebotham and Jennifer E. Gates-Foster, is volume 26 of the Archaeological Reports Series. This publication brings together the work of two survey teams who worked independently to explore and document the archaeological remains along the routes connecting the Nile Valley cities of Koptos (modern Qift) and Apollinopolis Magna (modern Edfu) to the Red Sea port city of Berenike in Egypt.
