Introducing Marta Ostovich, Manager of Programs
Marta Ostovich began working at ASOR in March 2018, as an Office Assistant. Starting July 1, she assumed a new role as Manager of Programs. Marta will be relocating to Alexandria in two weeks, and she will work with Andy Vaughn on the transition from Boston to ASOR’s new home and the hiring and training of new staff members. Announcing the Mellon/ACLS Scholars & Society Fellowships
The American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) is pleased to announce a new initiative to advance publicly engaged scholarship in the humanities. The Mellon/ACLS Scholars & Society program, made possible by a grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, will support humanities scholars who seek to partner with nonacademic organizations in their research and encourage innovation in doctoral education at their universities. La Sierra University - Archaeology Discovery Weekend
Archaeology Discovery Weekend is an annual event in mid-November, sponsored by the Center for Near Eastern Archaeology and organized by its Archaeology Planning Committee. Events include Lectures by world-class scholars on a common theme, an Authentic Jordanian Banquet, a Kids Dig, hands-on lab activities, and a genuine Bedouin Hospitality Tent set up for refreshments.
