The Publications Committee of the American Schools of Oriental Research announces a call for nominations for the Editor of The Annual of the American Schools of Oriental Research (AASOR) for a term to begin 1 January 2019. ASOR book series editors serve a three-year term and are eligible to be renewed twice.

La Sierra University - Archaeology Discovery Weekend
Archaeology Discovery Weekend is an annual event in mid-November, sponsored by the Center for Near Eastern Archaeology and organized by its Archaeology Planning Committee. Events include Lectures by world-class scholars on a common theme, an Authentic Jordanian Banquet, a Kids Dig, hands-on lab activities, and a genuine Bedouin Hospitality Tent set up for refreshments.

ASOR CHI May Report
ASOR CHI releases its May 2018 report covering cultural heritage destruction in Syria, Iraq, and Libya. The report includes ongoing illegal excavations at Apamea in Syria, the rebuilding of a mosque in Mosul, Iraq, and new damage to the Sabha Castle in Libya. Read more ...
ASOR/EPHE European Symposium
The ASOR Membership and Outreach Committee is pleased to announce its first overseas outreach initiative at the Sorbonne, in partnership with Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes – Paris Sciences et Lettres (EPHE-PSL), in Paris, September 4-6, 2018. The event will be a scholarly symposium with honorary chairs Susan Ackerman, President of ASOR, and Hubert Bost, President of EPHE-PSL.
