ASOR/EPHE European Symposium
The ASOR Membership and Outreach Committee is pleased to announce its first overseas outreach initiative at the Sorbonne, in partnership with Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes – Paris Sciences et Lettres (EPHE-PSL), in Paris, September 4-6, 2018. The recently released Presidential Budget Request for FY 2019 again calls for the elimination of the National Endowment for the Humanities along with the National Endowment for the Arts, the Department of Education’s International Education Programs, and more. Now is the time for ASOR’s American members to speak out to ensure that Congress supports the NEH for FY 2019. ASOR CHI - December 2017 Monthly Report
ASOR CHI releases its December 2017 report covering cultural heritage destruction in Syria, Iraq, and Libya. The report includes newly released photographs showing the condition of the Raqqa Museum, newly released photographs showing damage to the British Cemetery in Mosul, and illegal excavation is occurring at the Western Necropolis in Cyrene. 2018 Call for Papers Deadline Extended - March 1
Consistent with past years, ASOR is offering an extended deadline (March 1) to submit papers to the 2018 ASOR Annual Meeting. There is a $25 fee for submissions received after February 15 that will be waived if an abstract has been solicited by a session chair. Please visit the ASOR Annual Meeting website to read the Call for Papers, the participation guidelines, and to see the list of 2018 Sessions and Workshops. ASOR welcomes submissions from all Regular, Retired, Sustaining, Graduate, and Early Career Members.
