| Update on the Old City of Tripoli |
In May 2017, ASOR CHI reported on the demolition of Funduq al Khoji in the Old City of Tripoli. Following the release of the report, a concerned member of the Libyan Department of Antiquities released a detailed description of 13 historic buildings have been illegally dismantled and, in many cases, replaced by new construction. The Annual Meeting is less than two months away! The Westin Boston Waterfront has sold out of rooms in ASOR’s discounted group block. Please email Arlene Press if you would like to be added to the wait-list for rooms that open due to cancellations and changes. In the message please specify the nights that you need a room and if you prefer a room with a king bed or 2 double beds. Important: If you have a reservation that you no longer need, please cancel through Arlene rather than the hotel so that we can make sure the room is returned to our block and allocated to the next attendee on the wait-list. The committee seeks individuals who are willing to consider service as either Individual Trustees or as Institutional Representative Trustees.
