All New Gifts Will Help ASOR Qualify for $33,000
Not only do modest gifts add up to create significant support, now they can help ASOR qualify for a challenge gift. The ASOR Board has pledged $33,000 to the Annual Fund if we receive 100 gifts (of $10 or more) from people who have not yet contributed this fiscal year (July 1 - June 30). Gifts may be designated for student support, cultural heritage, endowment, publications, or any other area of ASOR’s work. Click here for the details in a letter from Ed Wright, ASOR’s Development Chair.

Help ASOR Fund Humanitarian Heritage Work in Idlib Governorate
Idlib Governorate has been particularly hard-hit over the last six years of the Syrian conflict, and the region and its people are in dire need of humanitarian assistance. Most recently, the town of Khan Sheikhoun was targeted in a chemical weapons attack that killed 92 people, including 30 children. ASOR, in partnership with The Day After Heritage Protection Initiative, is supporting emergency mitigation efforts at the Al Ma'ara Museum located in the town of Maarat al-Numan. ASOR has received half of the funds required to complete the project. We are asking for your help in raising an additional $5,000 to complete emergency mitigation efforts at a second museum site. Click here to find out how you can help support these efforts.
2017 Annual Meeting Call for Posters
Are you getting ready for an exciting field season? Have you been working on research that will be ready to share in the fall? The Projects on Parade Poster Session is accepting poster abstracts for the 2017 ASOR Annual Meeting, November 15-18, at The Westin Boston Waterfront. The deadline to submit a poster abstract is August 1. Posters are an ideal format for presenting archaeological projects, a technical aspect of your research, a complex graphic and/or quantitative data, or a spectacular find from the field season. Visit the Projects on Parade Poster Session website for more information and instructions on how to submit a poster abstract.
