Senate Proposes Drastic Cuts to Fulbright-Hays
Our friends at the National Humanities Alliance have asked US citizens to be in touch with their representatives to prevent deep cuts to funding for the Fulbright-Hays program and the support Fulbright-Hays provides for international education. Many ASOR members have been beneficiaries of Fulbright-Hays funding, and we have all benefited from the support Fulbright-Hays has offered to researchers working in the Near East and wider Mediterranean. C&G Partners Seeking Part-time Project Person
C&G Partners is a New York City-based exhibit design firm that is currently working on a few exhibits about the impact of the Bible (Hebrew and Christian). C&G is seeking a part-time project person to review and research material relating to biblical names and biblical toponyms in the U.S. For Biblical Names, someone is needed to review a list that we have already assembled of approximately 3,000 nouns (most of which should be names) from the Bible. That person needs to confirm the ones that are names and make note of any spelling variations of the same name (e.g. Shaul and Saul). That person also needs to call out nouns on the list that are not names, and note which of these are place names. For Bible on the Map, C&G needs someone to review or assemble a list of biblical place names in the United States. Contact Will Twersky for more information.
