Applications for Grants/Fellowships due February 15th!
In 2007, ASOR renewed its emphasis on providing excavation grants and fellowships that allow individuals to participate in excavations in the Eastern Mediterranean. Since 2007, ASOR has awarded 243 total grants and scholarships for excavations through the Dever, Harris, MacAllister, Meyers/Wright, Platt, and Heritage Fellowships. Welcome from Annual Meeting Program Committee Co-Chairs
We have been the new co-chairs of the Program Committee for just about a month, but we have already been challenged by the breadth and intellectual diversity of ASOR’s membership. We are honored to serve our fellow ASOR members in this role and we are excited about the intellectual energy of our colleagues. We want to take this opportunity to thank Elise Friedland and Andrew Smith for their tireless work leading the Program Committee for the previous six years. Challenge Gift Establishes the Strange Endowed Scholarship Fund

Postdoctoral Position at the Cotsen Institute
The Cotsen Institute of Archaeology, UCLA, Los Angeles, California, announces a postdoctoral position for the academic year, 2014-15, to begin September 1, 2014. We are seeking a recent Ph.D. in archaeology or any field related to archaeology (anthropology, art history, history, or area studies such as Classics, Near Eastern Studies, etc.) with a research project and/or methodological specialization that complements resources at the Cotsen Institute, such as paleo-environmental studies, historical archaeology, early complex Old World societies, or any area of Asian studies.
