| Summer Stipend Report: Lilly Hickox |
For her Summer Stipend project, Lilly Hickox examined ceramic oil lamps from the Roman vicus at the site of Humayma, Jordan. Hickox had previously studied lamps from Humayma's Roman fort, which showed that Nabatean lamps were more common than Roman. This current project sought to build on this work by examining lamps from civilian contexts in the town. The project was made possible by a 2021 Eric and Carol Meyers Summer Stipend. Read her report "Casting Light on Humayma's Roman Town."
