| Dr. Thomas Blanton, William G. Dever Fellowship Recipient |

ASOR is pleased to announce that Dr. Thomas Blanton is the first recipient of the recently-established William G. Dever Fellowship for Biblical Scholars. The fellowship was established in 2015 to award a qualified American untenured faculty member in the field of biblical studies with a $6000 grant to be used to gain elementary, first-hand experience in field archaeology and research in Israel. | Remembrance: William H. Hallo |
|
William W. Hallo, the William M. Laffan Professor Emeritus of Assyriology and Babylonian Literature at Yale University and a long-time ASOR members, died on March 27 at the age of 87. Hallo spent his career studying, teaching, and writing about Assyriology, archaeology, biblical studies, Semitic studies, and Babylonian literature. During his 40 years at Yale, he also served as curator of Babylonian Collection at the Yale Library and as master of Morse College 1982–1987. Read more... |

| Uncovering the Past: The Nelson Glueck Collections |

The ASOR Archives recently launched an online exhibit showcasing materials from the Nelson Glueck collections. The online exhibit was made possible thanks to generous grants from the David Berg Foundation and the Lanier Theological Library as well as other donors and foundations. Read Glueck’s pre- and post-WWII journals and correspondence, and browse an image gallery of photos he took during his many expeditions into the desert, where he identified hundreds of sites.
